Dirk Steffes is to become Managing Director of Kombiverkehr KG

(Frankfurt am Main, 13 April 2026) Dirk Steffes will become the new Managing Director of Kombiverkehr KG on 1 June 2026 and, together with Heiko Krebs, will steer the company’s future direction. Steffes succeeds Armin Riedl, who has successfully led the European intermodal operator for more than three decades. Riedl will step down from his position on the management board at the end of June 2026 and will continue to support the company with his specialist expertise until mid-2027. In his new role as part of the dual leadership team, Steffes will be responsible in particular for sales, corporate communications and human resources, and will play a key role in driving the company’s further growth in European rail freight transport.

Dirk Steffes has many years of international management experience in the logistics and rail sectors. His career highlights include senior management positions at Mars Inc., TX Logistik, Mitsui Rail Capital Europe and DB Cargo. He has also served on several supervisory boards of infrastructure companies in the rail sector and in an advisory capacity for the infrastructure investor Swiss Life Asset Managers. Steffes studied business administration in Germany and the USA.

The Administrative Board of Kombiverkehr KG has appointed Dirk Steffes as the company’s Managing Director. He will take up his new post on 1 June 2026 in Frankfurt am Main.
